Arsenal are more likely to sign £60m striker than Viktor Gyokeres
It’s clear what Arsenal’s transfer priority is in 2025 – sign a new striker
Arsenal are currently looking to bolster their centre-forward ranks in this transfer window.
Indeed, Arsenal bid for Ollie Watkins earlier this week, while Arsenal made an approach for Evan Ferguson recently too.
However, Arsenal may sign two new strikers this year, and a big-name could arrive in the summer.
Speaking on Curtis Shaw TV, Ben Jacobs has been dissecting which strikers Arsenal could look to sign at the end of the season, and he’s namechecked three potential targets.
Jacobs says Benjamin Sesko is the most viable target for Arsenal heading into next summer, while Alexander Isak is probably second in terms of feasibility, ahead of Viktor Gyokeres.
Alexander Isak more likely to join Arsenal than Viktor Gyokeres
Jacobs shared what he knows about Arsenal’s potential transfer targets.
According to the journalist, Sesko is Arsenal’s most likely summer signing, while Alexander Isak is more likely to join Arsenal than Benjamin Sesko.
“Viktor Gyokeres isn’t going to move unless he’s being given regular starting football as the number one. Right now I think we can’t discount Arsenal from that race either, because they have certainly looked at him.
“Some of the rivals being linked don’t have the funds or the squad space, Chelsea made an enquiry two windows ago and chose not to proceed. If Gyokeres comes to the Premier League, Arsenal will feel there’s a deal there to be had.”
“The most viable top choice for Arsenal as I’ve said many times is Benjamin Sesko. Number two in terms of feasibility is Alexander Isak but he’s the number one in terms of the dream, even above Sesko. Those two are above Gyokeres at the moment.”
Isak compared to Sesko and Gyokeres
Arsenal have three key striker targets heading into the summer, and they can be ranked as thus in terms of which are most likely to sign for the Gunners.
Arsenal’s most likely summer transfer signings1. Benjamin Sesko2. Alexander Isak3. Viktor Gyokeres
Sesko is the player Arsenal are most likely to get at the end of the season, but, frustratingly, the RB Leipzig star is the worst performer of the three.

Of course, there’s a lot to dissect here in this data and when analysing all three players.
On one hand, Sesko isn’t scoring as many as Gyokeres or Isak, but he is the youngest of the three players, so his ceiling may be the highest.
Meanwhile, Gyokeres is scoring more than Isak or Sesko, but, then again, he is scoring those goals in the Portuguse League, which, with all due respect, isn’t the highest of standards.
Arsenal have three stellar options here, and it will be interesting to see which route the Gunners go down come the end of the season.
