Liverpool are not targeting a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, it has been claimed. Arne Slot’s side sold Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich for £65.5million last month and speculation has increased that the Reds are looking to go out and sign another left-sided attacker

Barcola, 22, started last season as firm fixture in the PSG starting XI, but his game time started to reduce when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia signed in a blockbuster deal from Napoli in January. However, according to The Athletic, senior Liverpool figures have dismissed reports that the Reds are eyeing a move for Barcola this summer. It’s added that Slot’s men believe bringing in a left-sided forward with his profile would block the pathway for teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha.

Ngumoha, 16, is now viewed as part of Slot’s senior squad after an impressive pre-season. He scored twice and provided two assists in four matches during the club’s preparations for the new campaign.

Elsewhere, Liverpool remain interested in a move for Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, following Darwin Nunez’s £46m departure to Al-Hilal on Saturday. The Reds made a first official bid – claimed to be worth £110million flat – for the Sweden international earlier this month, but the offer was rejected by Newcastle.
