Chelsea legend didn’t just say that ❗ His opinion is backed up by a very important case

In a jaw-dropping twist that has left Chelsea fans stunned, former Blues captain John Terry has publicly backed arch-rivals Liverpool to clinch the 2025/26 Premier League title over his beloved Stamford Bridge side.
The legendary defender, now working with Chelsea’s academy, made the bombshell admission during a Friday morning appearance on talkSPORT, pointing to Liverpool’s blockbuster summer spending as the key to their dominance in the title race.
Terry, who won five Premier League titles during his 19-year Chelsea career, didn’t hold back in praising the Reds.
“I think they have a big motivation with the very sad loss of Diogo Jota in the back of their minds as well, ‘ said Terry.
“I really hope Liverpool do it for that reason alone. I think they’re the strongest side. They’re the strongest side, and the title is theirs to lose.”
The Reds’ record-breaking £446 million transfer window, headlined by British-record signings Florian Wirtz (£116 million) and Alexander Isak (£125 million), has transformed Arne Slot’s squad into a juggernaut, with nine points from three games to start the season.
But Terry was cautious about his former club’s prospects. Chelsea, under Enzo Maresca, made history last season as the Premier League’s youngest team, averaging 24 years and 36 days.
“I’m not sure Chelsea have enough experience within their squad to push them,” Terry admitted.
“I don’t want to put pressure on the Chelsea squad.”
His tempered expectations reflect a pragmatic view of the Blues’ youthful promise against Liverpool’s star-studded lineup.
Terry also took aim at Manchester City, dismissing their title chances.
“I think Man City have shown vulnerability again this season,” he said, highlighting their shaky defense, which leaked four goals in recent losses to Tottenham and Brighton.
