Alisson is one of the best goalkeepers in world football. Yet, despite this global recognition, his weekly wage of £150,000 doesn’t even rank him among the world’s top five highest-paid goalkeepers. Instead, this list is topped by Manuel Neuer, who earns a whopping £339,000-a-week.

The Brazilian has saved his side on countless occasions, and thus, a hefty payout at the end of every week would be more than justifiable. However, no better place is Liverpool’s money-savvy ways better highlighted than with the little amount they spend on their goalkeeper unit.

After the departure of Caoimhin Kelleher, Giorgi Mamardashvili is now serving as Liverpool’s backup goalkeeper. The only two other shot-stoppers in Liverpool’s first-team at the time of writing are Freddie Woodman and Armin Pecsi.

Defenders

The big change in the squad this summer is the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The right-back has moved to Real Madrid, meaning his £180,000-per-week wages were wiped off the books. In his place, Jeremie Frimpong has arrived at Anfield and reportedly picks up a wage of £100,000 per week.

Virgil van Dijk earns the second most of his teammates by bringing home £350,000 every week after putting pen to paper on a new deal. Andrew Robertson completes a trilogy of defenders who earn a six-digit wage, as the Scotland captain boasts a weekly pay of £160,000.

Van Dijk’s most trusted centre-back companion, Ibrahima Konate, is on £70,000-per-week, £15,000 less than Joe Gomez. Conor Bradley also earns more than the Frenchman, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. One for the future, Giovanni Leoni earns £30,000-per-week.

Midfielders

Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai all earn in excess of £100,000 a week, but their wages are significantly eclipsed by Florian Wirtz, who is earning £195,000 a week following his move from Bayer Leverkusen – making him one of Liverpool’s highest-paid players.

Curtis Jones, despite becoming a key player for the club under Slot, earns just £15,000-per-week. With two years left on his current deal, he is surely in line for a pay-rise soon. He earns less than backup players Stefan Bajcetic and Wataru Endo, who are paid £40,000-per-week and £50,000-per-week respectively.

Forwards

Certainly, there probably isn’t any surprise that Mo Salah is his club’s chief bread-winner, earning an eye-watering £400,000-per-week – which helped him stay put on Merseyside amid growing interest from Saudi Arabia. But as the ‘Egyptian King’ is also the Reds’ primary source of goals, who could blame the club for wanting to retain his services?

Liverpool tried all summer to sign Alexander Isak and they finally got a deal over the line on transfer deadline day. He put pen-to-paper on a six-year contract, believed to be worth £300,000-per-week, per the Guardian.

Hugo Ekitike became one of Liverpool’s highest-paid players when he joined from Frankfurt in a £79m deal. He signed a six-year deal worth a cool £200,000-per-week. Alexander Isak. The Swedish sharpshooter, per Sky Sports Germany, will earn £250,000 on a weekly basis.

Federico Chiesa signed a four-year deal worth £150,000-a-week last summer. The Italian earns the same amount as left-winger Cody Gakpo, who signed a new contract recently.

Meanwhile, teenage sensation Rio Ngumoha was earning £1,200 each week as a scholar, according to The Athletic. However, the young winger – who burst onto the scene with a last-gasp winner on his Premier League debut vs Newcastle – has now signed his first professional contract, which will earn him £52,000 a week. As per the Daily Mail, this is the maximum for a first-year professional at Liverpool – but he will be able ot make more through bonuses.
