Liverpool will assessĀ Ryan GravenberchĀ after the Dutch midfielderĀ limped off with a twisted ankleĀ againstĀ Manchester UnitedĀ this weekend, with trips to Eintracht Frankfurt and Brentford to come later this week.
Gravenberch was replaced by Curtis Jones with around a third of the game remaining. Cody Gakpo leveled the score shortly after, but Ruben Amorim’s team earned a victory thanks to Harry Maguire’s header past Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Mamardashvili was playing becauseĀ Alisson Becker remains outĀ with a hamstring issue. There has been no exact timeline placed on his return to action yet.
Alisson was substituted during the Champions League defeat against Galatasaray. “He is not training with us, so he is out,” Slot said on Friday.

“Like I always say, itās so difficult to say because the end phase of rehab can always give you positives or negatives, but he will not play on the weekend and also not next week.”
Wataru Endo, who dropped out of playing for Japan with a minor issue that he picked up against Chelsea, was also absent against Manchester United.
There has been no clarity yet on how long he might be out for, though the 32-year-old would be unlikely to feature much beyond a few minutes here and there off the bench anyway.
The only other injury for Liverpool at the moment is a long-term one:Ā Giovanni Leoni. The Italian teenager has undergone ACL surgery for the issue that he sustained in the League Cup win over Southampton.
If you look back at all three games we’ve lost in the Premier League, if you just put all the highlights [next to] each other, you would say it’s hardly possible that they lose this game.
“So if we can keep producing what we are doing and do a few things a little bit better, then there is every reason to expect that we start to win football games again.
“But I cannot promise you that on Wednesday evening we are again able to create eight, nine or 10 open chances. I hope so, and with the players we have then it will lead in the end to us scoring more goals.”
The injury crisis in Liverpool’s defensive line now extends to the players who are yet to move to Anfield.
Jeremy Jacquet, who will join the Reds this summer in a Ā£55m move from Rennes, was forced off the pitch in the second game after the transfer was announced.
The 20-year-old appeared to hurt his shoulder after an unlucky, awkward fall.
Even the official Ligue 1 account on social media wished Jacquet well after he was subbed off. The extent of the issue is yet unknown.

Arne SlotĀ has provided an early update on his Liverpool squad ahead of Saturdayās clash withĀ Newcastle, withĀ Ibrahima KonateĀ expected to return.
Konate has been absent for the last three games having travelled back to France to mourn the death of his father, but the centre-back is due to return for the visit ofĀ Newcastle.
Liverpool could also be boosted by the availability ofĀ Joe GomezĀ (hip) andĀ Curtis JonesĀ (illness), though the formerās recovery will be ātightā for the weekend.
āCurtis was sick, so we have to wait and see how it evolves. Joe might be tight,ā Slot told reporters after the 6-0 win over Qarabag.
āBut hoping and expecting to have Ibou back. I cannot guarantee this, but we are hoping that Ibou will be back with us.ā
Konateās return would be a major boost as Slot was forced to fieldĀ Ryan GravenberchĀ at centre-back in midweek with 19-year-old Amara Nallo coming off the bench in the second half.
Provided he is fully fit, it would allow the No. 5 to rejoinĀ Virgil van DijkĀ as the main pairing while Nallo and perhaps Gomez could provide cover from the bench.
Slot has more issues at right-back, withĀ Jeremie FrimpongĀ already ruled out againstĀ NewcastleĀ after picking up a suspected groin injury at the start of Wednesdayās win.
That could seeĀ Wataru EndoĀ ā considered cover at both centre-back and right-back along with his natural midfield role ā make his first start in over three months on the right side of defence.

Gomez and Ibrahima Konate were missing from Liverpool training ahead of their Champions League clash with Qarabag FK.
Gomez was injured during Liverpool’s 3-2 loss to Bournemouth, after which Arne Slot provided the following update:
“Joe got a knock from Ali, his knee went somewhere over here (points to his side and stomach),” Slot said after the match.
“I think it was bone on bone and you could see he was just not able to continue. Ali had swelling in his knee.
“I donāt know if Joe is going to train in two or three days, thatās difficult for me to say. But it was clear he couldnāt go on today.”
As for Konate, it is not clear whether he has missed training due to a fitness issue or due to bereavement leave following the passing of his father last week.
