Bryan Mbeumo transfer latest: Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool sent fresh message over January deal

The 25-year-old is being tipped for a big move this year

Brentford manager Thomas Frank says he can’t imagine the size of the transfer fee it would take for Bryan Mbeumo to be sold during the January transfer window amid links to Arsenal.

Mbeumo has certainly stepped up for the Bees following Ivan Toney’s departure last summer, scoring 13 goals as well as chipping in with three assists in the Premier League this season.

Such form has prompted talk of a big move for the 25-year-old with reports claiming Arsenal have been quoted at £60 million to get a deal done this month as they seek attacking reinforcements following injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

In addition to the Gunners, Manchester United and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Mbeumo, who is also said to be on the radar of Newcastle United.

Speaking last month, Frank insisted that the club had no plans to sell him in January and he’s doubled down on the stance when addressing the media ahead of this weekend’s clash at home to Liverpool.

When asked if a big fee could tempt Brentford to sell Mbeumo, Frank said: “It would be that big a fee that I can’t imagine the size of the fee.

“I’m not even focusing on keeping my best players. I’m just expecting them to stay.”

Bryan Mbeumo is courting interest from several Premier League teams.

At the end of the season, Mbeumo will have one year left on his Brentford contract that he signed January 2022.

However, as part of that agreement, crucially Brentford have the option to extend it by a further 12 months and that immediately strengthens their position in any transfer negotiations.
