Liverpool to RUIN Garnacho’s €70m Chelsea transfer

Liverpool are interested in Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, according to Italian media

The German winger has been at the heart of one of the biggest transfer sagas of the January window. Adeyemi has emerged as a target for Napoli, who are looking to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following his €70 million move to PSG.

Simultaneously, however, Napoli have also been in talks with Man Utd over Alejandro Garnacho and he is believed to be Antonio Conte’s top target. But due to his €70m price tag, the Serie A side focused heavily on Adeyemi last week and they even reached a basic agreement with Dortmund.

The problem Napoli face is that Adeyemi is showing no signs of wanting to leave his club mid-season despite the Black and Yellow’s struggles this term. This, in turn, has prompted Napoli to make a fresh approach for Garnacho, while Chelsea have also been in talks to sign him.

Now the plot thickens further, according to Corriere dello Sport, as Liverpool have also entered this saga.

Liverpool want Adeyemi

The Italian outlet claims that Liverpool have barged into the race to sign Adeyemi and that they are closely monitoring his situation after having their interest piqued by Dortmund’s willingness to sell for around €40 million.

However, the report states that Liverpool are not pursuing a January move but are instead banking on Adeyemi staying until the summer and then being prepared to take the next step.

With Napoli stepping up their pursuit of Garnacho (again) and Liverpool showing an interest in Adeyemi, it could leave Chelsea as the odd one out, with the Blues also keen to add to their frontline.

Chelsea also hold an interest in Adeyemi and they could be set for a major transfer battle with Liverpool, reminiscent of their struggles over the likes of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia in 2023.
