Liverpool will be without three players for Sunday’s visit from Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. On the back of Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Everton in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, the Reds welcome relegation-threatened Wolves without Joe Gomez, Tyler Morton or Curtis Jones.

And with Arsenal in action a day earlier at struggling Leicester City, Arne Slot will know by the time Wolves visit whether or not his title-chasing side can extend the seven-point advantage they are currently in possession of at the top of the Premier League.

And Jones will also sit out the weekend’s game having been sent off after the final whistle of the 2-2 draw with the Blues at Goodison. The city-centre-born midfielder scuffled with Abdoulaye Doucoure after a 98th-minute equaliser from James Tarkowski and were both shown second yellow cards by match official Michael Oliver.

The Premier League wrote: “Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones were both sent off for two bookable offences in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool. The pair will each serve one-match bans.

“Doucoure will sit out Everton’s upcoming Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace, while Jones is suspended for the first of Liverpool’s Matchweek 25 games, versus Wolverhampton Wanderers.”
