Cody Gakpo is set to miss Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League clash against Aston Villa due to an ankle injury.
The 25-year-old was also absent in the 2-1 victory over Wolves last night, with Arne Slot confirming the injury kept him out of the match.
“Cody didn’t have a yellow card or whatever,” Slot told reporters after the game.
“He got a knock in the Everton game. A few of us got a knock but he got an injury from that.
On whether Gakpo can return vs Villa, he added: “Under debate. It’s fast, Wednesday already, so let’s wait and see.
“It wasn’t a soft knock then!”
Meanwhile, Cody has scored 16 goals and assisted five more across competitions this season.
