How Jarrod Bowen feels about Tottenham transfer links as West Ham flirt with relegation

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keeping a close eye on one of West Ham’s key men, as fresh details emerge about Jarrod Bowen’s stance following growing speculation around his future.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are rivals, but both clubs put their differences aside in the summer as they did business for the first time since 2011.

Spurs appear to have benefited the most from that agreement, as they currently sit fifth in the Premier League table with Mohammed Kudus impressing, while West Ham are struggling at the other end in 18th place.

Tottenham are pushing to secure Champions League football once more this season and are also looking to poach another of West Ham’s talisman, Jarrod Bowen.

Tottenham interest grows as Jarrod Bowen stance revealed

Spurs’ interest in Bowen is no surprise, with reports in recent weeks linking the Lilywhites with a potential move for the Englishman.

Bowen has been one of the few bright sparks for West Ham this season, and it would be a major blow for the Hammers if they were to lose him.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit, as Liverpool are also keen, with Arne Slot’s side said to be seeking more attacking depth following the departure of Luis Diaz.

However, the same report adds that Bowen remains fully committed to West Ham despite the interest from elsewhere.

Speaking to Football Insider, journalist Pete O’Rourke highlighted Bowen’s importance to the Hammers, explaining that he is virtually untouchable within the current squad.

“He is probably the one and only untouchable player in that squad right now. I think most other players that are in that squad would be for sale at the right price as well, but Bowen is the heartbeat of that West Ham team.

“They need to keep him and Jarrod will be looking to build his team around him. He is on a long-term contract until 2030, so it is not like West Ham are under any real pressure to sell Jarrod Bowen as well.

“But no surprise that clubs will be looking at him. Tottenham, Liverpool because even in that struggling side, he still scores goals and he is a proven Premier League player.”

Reports from a few days ago also revealed West Ham’s stance regarding interest in Bowen.

It is understood that the Hammers are aware of Spurs’ growing admiration for the winger, and while it has been suggested that almost every player in their squad could be sold for the right price, Bowen is not one of them.

Bowen has been in immense form for West Ham, and it appears that not even the lure of Champions League football would be enough to convince him to leave the London Stadium at this stage

“[It will be] a huge boost for the squad to have those players available again after such a long, long time,” said Arteta last week. “Really happy that I think it is going to be very soon.

“We need to get players back because we are missing seven players in the front line for the last two months.”

Martin Odegaard has endured a frustrating few months with injury.

After the Arsenal captain had a shoulder problem, he was then sidelined for the last month with the knee issue he suffered against West Ham.

Odegaard was not called up by Norway for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers but he is among those players who Arteta hopes to have back after the international break.

“Some of them, all of them I don’t know,” the Spaniard added on Friday. “There are a lot of things that have to happen in the next two weeks, and everything has to be perfect, but I think we’ll be very close with most of them to be in a really strong position.”

Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke has been out since suffering a knee injury against Manchester City on September 21.

There was good news for Arsenal when scans showed the £48m signing from Chelsea had not suffered an ACL injury, and he is also closing in on a return.

Arne Slot may have been handed a boost in his pursuit of Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo, after the club’s general manager admitted the Cherries would find it hard to turn down a club of Liverpool’s size. Tim Bezbatchenko, director of Black Knight Football Club and general manager at Bournemouth, was speaking on the Business of Sport podcast.

The former United States international was asked about the Cherries selling several prime assets this summer, including Milos Kerkez to the Reds and centre-back Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid. Bezbatchenko conceded that there are certain clubs that Bournemouth cannot say not to, mindful that they don’t want to obstruct players taking on their dream clubs.

“When a club like Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSG come in and they’re competing for Champions League positions, who are we to say, ‘No, you can’t go, you can’t fulfil your dream’,” he said. “No it wouldn’t be like that for all clubs because not everyone is Real Madrid.

“But there is an opportunity and everybody wins right? I think that’s what we’re trying to find, this commonality where everybody can win.”

Bezbatchenko’s words will no doubt be music to the ears of Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes. Hughes was the man who originally brought Semenyo to Bournemouth in his former role at the Cherries and will be hoping Bezbatchenko’s admission means the Reds can test Bournemouth resolve for the lightning-quick winger in January or the summer.

The Ghana international has scored six goals and bagged three assists in 11 Premier League games for Bournemouth so far this season. He also scored a brace at Anfield in Liverpool’s opening weekend clash with the Cherries.

It’s understood that Semenyo has a release clause in his contract. However, while it’s unclear just how much the figure is, Bournemouth are said to value him

Liverpool will face steep competition for the star should they elect to bid. Manchester United and Tottenham were linked with a summer move for Semenyo with Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim even said to have met the player for dinner at the end of last season.

It has been suggested Liverpool could make a move as soon as January with the Reds lacking the outlet and creativity of a speedy winger. With the departure of Luis Diaz, Reds boss Slot has found himself relying solely on Cody Gakpo on the left flank

Florian Wirtz hes of promise on the wing, but that doesn’t appear to be where the manager envisages him long term. On the other side, Mohamed Salah is under genuine scrutiny for the first time in his legendary Anfield career.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has played down any prospect of Semenyo’s potential exit however. Asked about a release clause, the Spaniard remained elusive.

“I don’t know anything about the contracts of the players. I don’t know how much they earn and don’t want to know either,” he said.

“The most important thing for me is that he continues playing well. If he does there will be more noise but it’s something we take if he’s playing well. My concern is to keep him in the spot where he’s playing well.”
