Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Riccardo Calafiori – Arsenal injury news and return dates for Fulham

All the latest Arsenal injury news and updates ahead of the Gunners’ clash against Fulham
Mikel Arteta has been dealt a few setbacks ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Fulham. The Gunners will host the Cottagers at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening as they both look to climb the Premier League.
Before the international break, Fulham stormed past Tottenham Hotspur before Arsenal cruised to a 1-0 win over Chelsea. The North Londoners will want to narrow Liverpool’s advantage at the top of the table while Marco Silva dreams of European qualification.
The home side may fancy his chances against Fulham, but they could be without as many as six first-team players. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up all the latest Arsenal injury news and updates.

Bukayo Saka
Saka suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Crystal Palace in December. The 23-year-old winger underwent surgery a few days later, and he’s been absent ever since.
Speaking to reporters ahead of Arsenal’s clash against Chelsea before the international break, Arteta said: “Let’s see how they evolve in the next few weeks to make the right steps and then after that, they’ve been out for a long, long time, so we’re going to have to integrate them as well gradually.
“They are evolving well but they’re still a bit far. We have a meeting tomorrow to discuss where they are, especially Gabi, who probably has a chance before Bukayo to come in, but how soon that is, we’ll have to see how it evolves in the next week or 10 days.”
Injury: Hamstring.
Return date: Unknown.
Gabriel Jesus
Jesus sustained an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Arsenal’s clash against Manchester United back in January. The Gunners striker has since undergone surgery and started a rehabilitation programme.
What Arteta has said: “Not looking good at all. But we need to review with the specialist and will have more information this afternoon. I don’t want to confirm anything until we have the final report this afternoon. We were very worried straight after the game and we are very worried today.”
Injury: Calf.
Return date: October.
Kai Havertz
Havertz suffered a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai last month. The forward also underwent surgery on the issue before beginning a rehabilitation programme, which is expected to run into pre-season.
What Arteta has said: “We were having a great camp in Dubai, recharging, training, connecting with nature and a different environment. Then the injury happened in an unexpected way, it’s a big blow because of injuries we have.
“Fortunately, we have been through a lot this season, it’s the challenge I have. We love it. Let’s see what the team is made of. Any team in this league loses four players in the frontline like that and I know what the answer will be.”
Injury: Hamstring.
Return date: Summer.
Riccardo Calafiori
Calafiori suffered a knee injury during Italy’s clash against Germany on Thursday night. The defender needed on-field treatment after awkwardly slipping in the final minutes of stoppage time. He has since returned to London Colney for further assessment.
What Luciano Spalletti said: “He said that his knee feels strange. But I cannot answer more precisely than that, so we’ll have to see.”
An official statement from the Italian FA reads: “Riccardo Calafiori, who underwent tests late this morning after sustaining an injury to his left knee during yesterday’s match against Germany, has been deemed unavailable for Sunday’s second leg and will return to his club.”
Injury: Knee.
Return date: Unknown.
Jurrien Timber
Timber has fallen ill during the international break. The defender was omitted from the Netherlands squad that faced Spain on Thursday night before being sent home early.
What Ronald Koeman said: “It’s a tough choice. [Ian] Maatsen joined at the last minute, but he’s a real left back.”
Injury: Illness.
Return date: Unknown.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Tomiyasu remains out of action with a knee injury. The defender missed the large majority of last season with a calf problem and he’s played just six minutes this term.
What Arteta has said: “Tomiyasu is going to be out as well for a period.”
Injury: Knee.
Return date: Unknown.
