Arsenal have decided against giving Thomas Partey a new deal, midfielder likely to move to Saudi

Arsenal have opted against giving Thomas Partey a new deal and he is set to leave the club at the end of the current campaign, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

The Ghana international midfielder is out of contract in the coming months, and the Gunners are now preparing for life without his services, with Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi identified as a potential replacement.

Partey has suitors in the Premier League and Serie A, but a move to Saudi Arabia is on the cards once he leaves Arsenal, with his representatives already in talks with the Middle East moneybags.

The 31-year-old has made 46 appearances across all competitions for the North London club so far in 2024-25, sometimes featuring at right-back too, and he has been a very important player.

However, it appears Arsenal have decided it is best for both parties to part ways, and Partey is keen to move on and seal a move to the Saudi Pro League, where a potential three-year awaits.

It is his last opportunity to earn huge wages as he nears the twilight of his footballing career, and he will not be short of suitors in the SPL having impressed them during the Champions League this term.

The Arsenal star was one of the best players across both legs against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the elite European competition this month, and he will be desperate to leave the club with a major trophy.

Partey joined the Gunners from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 and has featured in 161 games for them, proving his quality whenever being called upon.

His versatility has come in handy for manager Mikel Arteta, and the onus will be on new sporting director Andrea Berta to get the perfect replacement for the Black Stars ace.
