Bukayo Saka stinks, Declan Rice awesome – Arsenal player ratings v Bournemouth

Mikel Arteta’s side suffered a shock defeat as Bournemouth secured a 2-1 win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

After several squandered chances, it was Declan Rice who opened the scoring in front of the home crowd on Saturday, 3 May, with the Gunners looking to cruise towards another three points.

However, a fantastic header from Chelsea-linked central defender Dean Huijsen followed by a scruffy Evanilson goal overturned the deficit during a thrilling second half for the Cherries.

The Gunners, not only losing out on the Premier League title to Liverpool, are now at risk of falling below Man City and Newcastle United in the league table.

David Raya – 4

Very little Raya could do about Huijsen’s header, but with the goalkeeper getting a lot of contact on Bournemouth’s winner, it was a bad day at the office for the Spaniard.

Ben White (Off for Oleksandr Zinchenko 86′) – 5

Good to see White back in the starting lineup. However, it was not the full-back’s brightest display, losing more duels than he won and misplacing a few too many passes.

William Saliba – 6

A solid display from the Frenchman, who is always at his best when featuring for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

Jakub Kiwior – 5

Never looked comfortable when up against Bournemouth’s flying forwards. While he has been a decent stand-in for Gabriel Magalhaes, he clearly has a lot to learn.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 6

Created a couple of chances, was key in winning free-kicks in the final third, but could not find the final pass to secure a much-needed equaliser.

Thomas Partey – 4

Suffered a very slow start, putting his team under unnecessary pressure with misplaced passes and bad decisions. Never really kept up with the tempo of the game.

Declan Rice (Off for Mikel Merino 74′) – 9 – Man of the Match

Absolutely everywhere yet again. Such a complete player, flying into tackles, travelling with the ball, and even finding the back of the net again. A proper leader for the Gunners.

Martin Odegaard – 6

Apart from grabbing the assist for Rice’s goal, it was a bit of a disappointing display from the captain, who has come under criticism from the supporters recently.

Bukayo Saka (Off for Ethan Nwaneri 86′) – 3

Completely out of it. He created a few shooting opportunities early in the second half, but as the Cherries grew into the game, his impact in the final third diminished.

Leandro Trossard – 5

Had a couple of chances to threaten the Cherries, having one of his efforts saved, but it was not enough from the Belgian, who is usually so clinical in the final third.

Gabriel Martinelli (Off for Raheem Sterling 86′) – 8

Continued to make threatening runs down the left flank, causing issues for Julian Araujo and then Lewis Cook, but he could not add to his goal contributions.
