Transfer news LIVE!

The summer window opens in less than two weeks as clubs across Europe continue to work on major deals in a bid to get business done early. Arsenal are keen to sign the striker they so desperately crave and Viktor Gyokeres appears to be top of their wishlist amid reports that a £59million fee has been agreed. Manchester United are firmly in the race but a deal may depend on them winning the Europa League.

The biggest deal of the summer looks set to involve Florian Wirtz, with Liverpool and Bayern Munich set to battle it out for the German star after Manchester City bowed out over projected spiralling costs. The midfielder is expected to cost around £250m, including all fees and wages. The Reds have already signed Jeremie Frimpong and are also working on a move for Milos Kerkez, who City also want.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has already confirmed his wish to sign a striker this summer and a cut-price £30m deal for Ipswich’s Liam Delap appears too good to turn down. Man Utd and Newcastle agree, while Tottenham have also been linked. United are already expected to sign Matheus Cunha for £62.5m. The Club World Cup is accelerating transfer moves, with more movement expect soon. Follow the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip live below!

Real Madrid to disrupt Liverpool’s Wirtz plans?

Liverpool must be getting fed up of the mention of Real Madrid.

The Reds are said to be in a good position to sign Florian Wirtz if the Bayer Leverkusen star leaves Germany this summer, but that could change.

Sky Germany report that Real Madrid could make a move for Wirtz, with incoming Xabi Alonso a big fan having worked together at Leverkusen.

It’s claimed that the LaLiga giants will consider a bid if they sell Rodrygo, who has been linked with a summer exit.

Delap suits Chelsea’s philosophy

The Daily Mail report that Chelsea remain interested in Liam Delap as they feel he suits the club’s transfer philosophy.

The club strategy has focused on signing young players on lower wages with an eye to developing them into stars, and Delap at 22 is seen to fit that bill.

Available at £30million, he is also seen to be better value for money than other, more expensive options.

Chelsea not interested in Rodrygo

Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is reportedly keen to take on a new challenge next season, and, while they are reported to be looking into signing a star winger, Chelsea are not thought to be interested in the player.

To sign Rodrygo, a 24-year-old worth as much as €100m, would not suit the Blues’ model, which is focused on signing young players on lower wages with an eye to developing them into top players.

Arsenal have emerged as a potential destination for Rodrygo, though, as they look to strengthen their options and upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli.

Chelsea would require ‘significant’ fee to unseat Enzo Fernandez

Chelsea are ready to resist any moves for Enzo Fernandez amid reports that Real Madrid are looking to land a new Galactico this summer.

The Argentina midfielder joined Chelsea from Benfica for €121m, and the Blues will only enter into negotiations if an offer ‘considerably north’ of that sum is received, according to Ben Jacobs.

It had earlier been reported that Real are not willing to pay such a fee, though Fernandez is thought to be interested in the move.

Liverpool confident of completing Kerkez move

Liverpool have already identified the man they want to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold as they remain confident of completing a deal for Bournemouth full-back and Hungary international Milos Kerkez.

Sky Germany today reported that he is the Reds’ top priority in the position, and they are ready to move for him after the season ends. Productive talks have been held in recent days, with a contract through 2030 prepared.

Manchester City are also reported to be interested in his services, and Liverpool are also reported to be close to signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong.

He would join his defensive partner Dean Huijsen in leaving the Cherries for greener pastures this summer, as the Spain international’s £50million transfer to Real Madrid was confirmed earlier this month.

Napoli table offer to De Bruyne

Napoli are interested in bringing in Kevin De Bruyne on a free transfer when his contract expires at Man City.

The Belgian bade farewell to the Etihad Stadium after City’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday, and he missed a golden opportunity to seal his final performance with a goal in the first half.

Previous reports claim that Chicago Fire of MLS are frontrunners to land the midfielder, but now, it appears that Antonio Conte is keen to add him to his ranks, to join up with Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour.
