| BREAKING: Leroy Sane closing in on Bayern Munich exit, Arsenal his preferred destination, per @cfbayern Concrete talks between Arsenal and Sané are taking place. He has already REJECTED a move to Arsenal rivals, Tottenham.
Arsenal could look to complete a huge move for Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane in the coming weeks, according to reports – and the German winger is thought to prefer a move to the Emirates Stadium if he is to leave Vincent Kompany’s side once his contract expires at the end of the month.
Sane, 29, has spent five seasons at Bayern, racking up 153 league appearances from a possible 170 in the Bundesliga, scoring 41 league goals in the process and registering 40 assists, with the Bavarian club winning four league titles from a possible five in his current spell. But with his deal expiring, he could be on the move – and he’s reportedly chosen Arsenal as his favoured destination if he is to leave.

The former Manchester City star’s future is still undecided

The report by German outlet BILD states that Bayern must sell any stars before incomings can come to the Allianz Arena – and although Sane is out of contract, his estimated £324,000-per-week wages being freed up will give the Bavarians real wiggle room in the market.

Sane could still stay at Bayern, but if he does leave, the Bundesliga champions may not even sign someone in his place – and although his preference is to stay at the German club, Arsenal are his most appealing option if he was to move abroad, despite offers from Saudi Pro League clubs and Turkey.
Bayern’s viewpoint is that if Sane hasn’t received a better offer from elsewhere than now, then he’d likely accept the current offer they have on the table for him.
But Arsenal are in the market for wing recruits, knowing that they need a backup for Bukayo Saka as well as genuine star competition for Gabriel Martinelli on the left-flank – and Sane, on a free transfer, would represent great value for money.
And, if Sane does extend his contract, it means that incomings at Bayern will be scarce, and so his exit would at least mean the excitement of a new man coming in – which Bayern missed out on amid Florian Wirtz’s decision to join Liverpool.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Leroy Sane has 14 goals in 69 caps for Germany.
Arsenal are set for a huge transfer window themselves, with director Andrea Berta set to spend up to £300million this summer. Around £50million of that will be spent on Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, whilst other striker stars such as RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko are also in the pipeline, as the Gunners aim to win the Premier League and the Champions League, having failed to win the English top-flight in over 20 years and never having tasted European success.
