Predicted Liverpool lineup against Girona: Diaz in for Nunez; Alisson available Luis Diaz will replace Darwin

Nunez in the Liverpool starting lineup for their Champions League clash against Girona at Estadi Montilivi on Tuesday.
Liverpool have picked up five wins from five matches in the UEFA Champions League, and they will look to grind out all three points when they lock horns with Girona at Estadi Montilivi on Tuesday evening.
However, Arne Slot will be without Conor Bradley (hamstring), Ibrahima Konate (knee), and Kostas Tsimikas (ankle). Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota and Tyler Morton are still recovering from their respective injuries, and they do not have the match fitness to feature here.
Meanwhile, there is some good news, as Liverpool will be able to welcome back Alisson Becker from his injury layoff due to a hamstring issue. Slot discussed the Brazilian goalkeeper’s progress during his pre-match press conference.
Arne Slot said, “I think it speaks for itself if you can play with Alisson, [who] has been so outstanding for this club for so many years and for the Brazil national team. [It] is definitely nice to have him back and to have him available.
However, Alisson lacks match fitness and might not start against Girona on Tuesday, although he could be a part of the squad. Liverpool will shape up in a 4-2-3-1 formation this midweek, with Caoimhin Kelleher continuing in goal.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start on the flanks, and they will look to contribute at both ends of the pitch. Joe Gomez will start in the central defensive pairing alongside Virgil van Dijk.
As for the midfield unit, Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch will start in the double pivot, and they will look to add creativity, control and composure to the side. Dominik Szoboszlai will be the attacking midfielder, and he will look to create goalscoring opportunities for his teammates in the final third.
Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will start in their usual position on the flanks. They will look to add creativity and goals to the side from the wide areas. Finally, Cody Gakpo will lead the line for Liverpool against Girona, with Darwin Nunez dropping to the bench.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Gakpo
