Bayern Munich has reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign Luis Díaz, a 28-year-old Colombian winger, for a reported €75 million. Díaz has verbally agreed to a four-year contract worth approximately €14 million per year, plus bonuses, until June 2029 or potentially June 2030.

Is Luis Díaz Ready to Leave Liverpool for Bayern Munich?
Luis Díaz seems to have made up his mind—last season was his final one with Liverpool. After winning the Premier League title under Arne Slot, the 28-year-old Colombian is now openly seeking a fresh start elsewhere. Three years after his move from FC Porto, Díaz feels it’s time to take the next step in his career.
While Liverpool understands his ambition, the club won’t let him go cheaply, especially after making recent investments like the signing of Hugo Ekitike. Barcelona once showed strong interest, with Deco prioritizing Díaz, but the €80 million asking price quickly ended any negotiations.
Why Does Bayern Want Luis Díaz?
Bayern Munich is urgently looking for attacking reinforcements. The departures of Thomas Müller, the potential exit of Leroy Sané, and Jamal Musiala’s long-term injury have left the squad with limited offensive options. Additionally, Florian Wirtz’s move to Liverpool has created a void the club now hopes to fill with Díaz.
The Colombian fits the mold of the new Bayern project—pace, creativity, and high pressing. According to BILD, the Bavarians are preparing a €90 million offer after their initial bid was rejected.
What Could Block the Move?
The biggest hurdle remains the transfer fee. While Bayern seems willing to spend big, Liverpool is standing firm. They have no intention of losing one of their most decisive players—who recorded 17 goals and 8 assists in 50 matches last season—without receiving a fee that reflects his impact.
There’s also uncertainty over whether Arne Slot would greenlight the departure. The Dutch coach values Díaz’s defensive work rate and game-changing ability. Still, the final decision could swing if the player continues pushing for an exit.
Has Luis Díaz Already Said Goodbye?
All signs point to yes. Sources close to the player suggest that Díaz has already mentally closed the chapter on his time in England. With two years left on his contract, he is now firmly focused on securing a move this summer. If Bayern Munich meets Liverpool’s financial demands, the deal could be finalized in the coming days.
