Ibrahima Konate sends goodbye message after Liverpool exit confirmed

Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate shared an emotional goodbye message as uncertainty continues to surround his future at Anfield.
The Reds have undergone significant changes this summer, with Arne Slot eager to reshape the squad following his title-winning debut campaign.

Big-name arrivals such as Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong have added fresh quality to the side, but there have also been several notable departures.
Trent Alexander-Arnold completed a high-profile move to Real Madrid, while goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has joined Brentford in search of regular football.
Another exit could soon follow, with Football Insider revealing that Liverpool could be open to selling Konate if they receive an offer in the region of £40 million, amid interest from Real Madrid.
With speculation around his own future continuing, the French defender posted a heartfelt farewell to a teammate who has confirmed their departure from the club.
Ibrahima Konate sends farewell to Luis Diaz after Bayern Munich move
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Luis Diaz has officially joined Bayern Munich in a four-year deal worth £65.5million.
Many former teammates have shared farewell messages, and now Konate has added his own tribute via Instagram. The Liverpool defender wrote: “My Hermano. All the best in your new club and new life we will miss you so much.”
Diaz played a key role under Slot last season, contributing 17 goals and providing eight assists across all competitions. However, with no progress on a new contract, the Colombian has now secured a move away from Anfield.
Some Liverpool fans had urged the club to part ways with Diaz after reports emerged that he was pushing for a transfer to Bayern, and now, calls from both the player and the supporters have been answered.
Real Madrid prepared to move for Ibrahima Konate amid contract uncertainty
With both Diaz and Alexander-Arnold now gone, Konate could be the next high-profile exit, as Real Madrid continue to monitor the Frenchman’s situation.
Football Insider revealed that Madrid are considering a £25million offer for Konate in what would be a cut-price deal, but are also willing to wait until 2026 when his current contract expires.
The Spanish giants previously delayed their move for Alexander-Arnold until the final stages of his deal, eventually securing him for a minimal fee, and they could follow a similar approach with Konate to test Liverpool’s resolve.
‘It’s Liverpool or nothing’ – Sensational Alexander Isak transfer edges closer

Alexander Isak is running out of options to leave Newcastle this summer as the striker pushes for an exit.
The Sweden international wants to quit St. James’ Park this summer, despite the club qualifying for the Champions League, and Liverpool are working behind the scenes on a club-record deal.
The Toon have repeatedly missed out on their main transfer targets, and Eddie Howe is under fire, sources have told Football Insider exclusively.
The Swede has made his intentions clear that he wants out of St James’ Park with the number 14 training away from the team on his own at former club Real Sociedad.
Newcastle refuse to deny that Isak has gone AWOL from training after he returned to his old club while his current teammates are on tour in the Far East.

The Magpies’ failure to strengthen around their star man will undoubtedly be a source of frustration, coupled with Newcastle’s decision not to extend Isak’s contract last summer.

Liverpool were the main suitors for the ex-Real Sociedad man, but they have signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, casting doubt on whether they will make a move for the Swede.
Alexander Isak running out of options
This article contains exclusive comment from Dan Plumley, a football finance expert and senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
The finance expert had previously explained to Football Insider why Isak’s move to Liverpool hit a stumbling block, after they prioritised signing Ekitike.
There are very few other teams in world football capable of paying the lofty price tag Newcastle have placed on their striker.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Plumley said: “Where else does he go in England?

“Arsenal look to have done what they need to do or want to do. Man United have obviously signed Cunha, Mbeumo. City don’t appear interested.
“We’ve not heard many rumours about the bigger clubs in Europe wanting him. It was all about Liverpool. It’s a question of if it’s not Liverpool, where else does he go?
“I think that’s the question that we don’t know at the minute because we’ve only seen the Liverpool interest.”
Newcastle target Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade
Before his move to Anfield, Newcastle were keen on bringing Ekitike to Tyneside to pair with Isak.
The former Frankfurt man is best known as a striker, but his well-rounded skill set allows him to be effective in a number of roles.
After missing out on Ekitike, Newcastle have now turned their attention to Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade.
The German giant is a dribbling maestro and he enjoyed an astonishing breakout season for his side in the Bundesliga, before tearing up the European Under-21 championships this summer.
However, Newcastle will have to fend off the likes of Bayern Munich and Man United to secure Woltemade’s signatur
