Arsenal transfer news LIVE – Eberechi Eze latest, Ademola Lookman update, Rodrygo decision

The latest Arsenal transfer news including updates on Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko, Eberechi Eze and Rodrygo, as deadline day is now less than four weeks away

Updated16:55, 7 Aug 2025Eberechi Eze is a transfer target for Arsena

Hello and welcome to the latest football.london Arsenal transfer news live blog.

The summer transfer window is still open for another weeks or so and Arsenal have plenty more business to conclude before the September deadline. They are up to seven signings after Viktor Gyokeres joined Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke, with Eberechi Eze being who they want to make the sixth over these remaining weeks.

Arsenal have also shown interest in Anthony Gordon and Xavi Simons, although Chelsea are negotiating a deal with RB Leipzig for the latter. The future of Alexander Isak at Newcastle United could also impact any move for his teammate.

Ademola Lookman is also appreciated by some within the club. Links to Rodrygo, meanwhile, refuse to go away. There will almost certainly be more exits than arrivals this month, though, with departures understood to be the current focus over incomings.

Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira, Karl Hein and Reiss Nelson could all make way. Moves for Gabriel Martinelli, Jakub Kiwior, Leandro Trossard and Oleksandr Zinchenko may also materialise.

Either of the defenders departing would likely revive interest in Jeremy Jacquet, while either winger being sold should see a direct replacement signed. football.london will bring you all the latest Arsenal transfer news throughout the day as the hours tick down to deadline day.

Arsenal keep tabs on Lookman

According to The Sun journalist Jordan Davies, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Ademola Lookman’s situation at Atalanta, should they miss out on Eberechi Eze. The report claims the arrival of a new forward at the Emirates Stadium could spell the exit of Leandro Trossard.

It’s said that the Italian outfit wants at least £45m for Lookman. The Nigeria international, whose contract at the Gewiss Stadium expires in June 2027, recently submitted a formal transfer request.

Tom Canton provides the latest Arsenal transfer news

After losing back-to-back pre-season fixtures, Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are facing what might be premature but genuine pressure and concern from supporters. There is a sense that the team is not yet ready for the Premier League season, despite the trip to Old Trafford being one more friendly and just over a week away.

Arteta was critical after the game of the side’s efficiency in the final third, and there were further defensive errors, which have been an issue throughout the summer. There have definitely been positives in the form of Max Dowman, Martin Zubimendi, Martin Odegaard’s sharpness and the integration of so many new signings.

However, the club still feels like it needs more, both on and off the field. From a summer transfer market perspective, one focus right now is outgoings.

Talking points from Arsenal 2-3 Villarreal

Not the way that Mikel Arteta would have wanted to see his side perform with less than two weeks to go until Arsenal travel north to Manchester United. Falling to a 3-2 defeat to Villarreal courtesy of three defensive errors which left players looking at one another for answers.

The Gunners would have liked their return to the Emirates Stadium to have been as strong as the reaction that Viktor Gyokeres received from the supporters. However, while being dominant, they lacked cutting edge and then when hit on the counter, their opponents were ruthless – Arsenal were not.

Now, this always comes with the guise that this remains pre-season, and therefore any performance and subsequent result should be taken with a grain of salt. Yet what can become challenging is the fact that there remain problems that have been witnessed during the previous seasons that are not changing.
