Liverpool told swap deal will secure Alexander Isak agreement – ‘this will break the deadlock’

Liverpool have been given a brand-new way to complete the deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

Arne Slot’s side are in hot pursuit of the Swedish striker, but the Magpies are unwilling to sell him before bringing in a replacement

Eddie Howe’s side rejected Liverpool’s first bid for Isak earlier this month, turning down the offer which totalled £120million.

As the transfer deadline draws closer, it is becoming less and less likely that the Reds will be able to pull off a move for the 25-year-old.

However, Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes Liverpool could manufacture some sort of swap deal to complete the Isak transfer

‘Liverpool have what Newcastle want’

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Liverpool could bring Isak in by offering £120m plus a player swap, as Newcastle still need to fill a number of positions.
