BREAKING NEWS LIVE : Ben Doak Reportedly Set to Join Bournemouth in £25M Transfer Deal

The 19-year-old winger has been withdrawn from the squad to face Bournemouth as he prepares for a move to that club.

Liverpool’s summer of massive squad overhaul continues apace today, with talented 19-year-old winger Ben Doak reportedly on the verge of completing a £25M transfer to Bournemouth and the young Scottish international now appearing certain to depart after three years on the books with the Reds.

Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic in 2022 with the Reds paying £600k in training compensation, which means that his sale will mark an exceptionally significant profit for the club—especially when considering Doak’s current contract is set to expire next summer. Still, most fans had hoped for more than profit from Doak.

Following his arrival, Doak quickly became seen as at least potentially being the long-term successor to superstar winger Mohamed Salah, and two promising seasons where he played 10 games with the senior squad followed by a successful 2024-25 spent on loan at Middlesborough certainly didn’t dampen those hopes.

Heading into the summer, though, there was a growing buzz that his long-term future might not lie with the Reds, though it remains unclear how much of that would be down to the club’s views on the player versus how much might be down to Doak not seeing a path to playing time and perhaps seeking to leave.

Regardless the reasons, with a year on his contract it appears it has been decided that now is the time to sell, and widespread reports today have the deal nearly done and the player pulling out of tonight’s squad to face Bournemouth—now set to be Doak’s new club—ahead of his £25M move to the south coast club.
