Leandro Trossard tweaked his groin during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia and was unavailable for either home friendly with Villarreal or Athletic, but Arteta is optimistic that the Belgian will be OK for the trip to Old Trafford.

Fellow attacker Gabriel Jesus is slowly but surely taking steps forward in his recovery from January’s ACL tear, having now started training outdoors again, but it will be a few months before the Brazilian can return to action – if all goes well.
