A stunning late move has lit up the summer window again

Targets: Morgan Rogers, Alexander Isak and Eberechi Eze

Transfer news LIVE!

The summer window has been handed two huge twists as it enters its final stretch. Arsenal re-entered the transfer market after Kai Havertz picked up a knee injury, the severity of which remains unknown, and quickly moved to hijack Tottenham’s move for Eberechi Eze. Spurs had agreed a deal with Crystal Palace and a contract with the player, but the Gunners swooped in at the 11th hour and turned the player’s head. A medical is expected on Friday. Where do Spurs go now? They still like Savinho and have been linked with Morgan Rogers.

In another twist, Liverpool could finally be edging towards signing Alexander Isak with Newcastle set to bid again for Yoane Wissa. Marc Guehi also remains a target for the Premier League champions, but both deals look difficult to complete. Another forward on the move could be Nicolas Jackson, who Newcastle and Aston Villa admire.

Chelsea could use funds from a potential sale of Jackson to finally wrap up deals for Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons, while Christopher Nkunku continues to discuss a move back to RB Leipzig. Manchester United want a new midfielder, and have turned attentions to Eduardo Camavinga and Lucien Agoume. Follow the latest transfer news, gossip and rumours live below!

Liverpool approve £130m Isak bid

Liverpool have approved a British record transfer for Alexander Isak.

According to The Sun, the Reds are set to make a £130million move for the Newcastle star next week and are confident it will be accepted.

It will prove to be a £20million increase on their opening bid, which was submitted and rejected on August 1.

The report adds that Harvey Elliott, who is valued at £40m could come into the equation in a part-exchange deal.

Eze to START for Crystal Palace tonight

Eberechi Eze will start for Crystal Palace in their Conference League play-off clash on Thursday, despite closing in on a move to Arsenal.

The Palace star was on show during Palace’s public training session earlier on Wednesday, and manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed Eze will start against Fredrikstad tonight.

Spurs were in advanced talks to sign Eze and had agreed a deal with both club and the play, only for the Gunners to swoop in and turn the player’s head.

Glasner has also confirmed Marc Guehi will start, with his future also uncertain amid interest from Liverpool.

Why has Alexander Isak not handed in a transfer request?

Newcastle striker Alexander Isak has, informally, requested a transfer. However, formally requesting a transfer has some knock-on effects, writes Sam Tabuteau.

It can come in the form of a legal document and would outline a desire to breach the terms of their employment.

In some cases, it means forfeiting significant contractual perks, like signing-on fees and loyalty bonuses.

Man Utd offered Rabiot

Manchester United are set to be offered Adrien Rabiot.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Marseille are desperate to get rid of the midfielder after a dressing-room falling out.

Marseille issued a statement announcing that Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe have been placed on the transfer list due to “unacceptable behaviour.”

United previously tried and failed to sign Rabiot.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “The club decided to put Adrien Rabiot and another player out of their squad, so Rabiot is available in the market. Olympique Marseille even released a statement saying he was up for sale and they want around €15-€20million (£13m-£17m) to let him leave.

“Those close to Rabiot’s camp are proposing the opportunity to offer Rabiot to clubs, for example also to Manchester United. He’s a player, who was a target for United many years ago but recently, it was never close. At the moment, I’m not hearing anything concrete on United but he’s going to be offered to them and many other clubs.”

Eze to have Arsenal medical on Friday

Eberechi Eze hopes to undergo his Arsenal medical on Friday, reports Dom Smith.

Eze will play for Crystal Palace tonight in the first leg of their Conference League play-off at Selhurst Park and then wrap up a move to Arsenal.

This deal is being completed at staggering speed.

Arsenla close in on stunning Eze hijack

What a transfer window this is turning out to be!

Tottenham had a deal for Eze all agreed, but Arsenal have swooped in and hijacked the deal.

Standard Sport understands that Arsenal and Crystal Palace have reached an agreement in principle after opening talks this afternoon.

Arsenal have matched the £67.5million fee Spurs were set to play.

Fulham transfer update

Fulham have been all over the headlines tonight.

They received – and are yet to respond to – an offer for Martial Godo from Coventry City. It remains unclear where they stand on the offer.

The Cottagers are, however, weighing up a fresh bid for Kevin, Shakhtar Donetsk’s latest Brazilian sensation.

They are also due to enter contract talks with Rodrigo Muniz as Atalanta have cooled their interest. Those talks will take place after the transfer window has closed.

Veiga joins Chelsea’s summer exodus

Renato Veiga will become Chelsea’s 11th first-team departure of the summer after he agreed a move to Villarreal.

He leaves the Blues for a fee of around €30million, and Standard Sport understands Chelsea have included a sell-on clause in the deal. It is a club-record signing for the Spanish outfit.

The Portuguese moved to west London from Basel in a £12m deal in 2024, but never made much of an impression.

He is expected to sign a seven-year deal.
