Latest Slot backs Szoboszlai as right-back: ‘We think the best fit is Dominik’

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has expressed full confidence in Dominik Szoboszlai to fill in at right-back for their upcoming clash against Newcastle United.

The No. 8 will start in the position following an injury to Jeremie Frimpong, with Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez only available on the bench.

Slot suggested that Szoboszlai could play the full 90 minutes in the role, praising his defensive abilities despite being primarily an attacking midfielder.

“We think the best fit is Dominik Szoboszlai. Because although he was an attacking midfielder last season, and he is an attacking midfielder, if you see the work rate, how good of a defender he also is, we think he is able to play there,” Slot has said ahed of the match.
