Marquinhos has left Arsenal to join Cruzeiro on a permanent

Arsenal have confirmed that a deal has been completed for Marquinhos to leave the club on a permanent basis.

Marquinhos has officially completed a permanent move to Cruzeiro in Brazil, with the Gunners confirming the news with a statement.

The winger spent the second half of last season on loan with the Brazilian club, where he scored one goal and provided one assist in his 18 appearances.

“Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Marquinhos for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future,” Arsenal wrote in their statement confirming Marquinho’s departure.

The deal that saw Marquinhos leave Arsenal to join Cruzeiro was originally scheduled to last until the end of the year. The Gunners – led by sporting director Andrea Berta – have instead struck a deal which will see the 22-year-old complete a permanent switch, which will see him return to his homeland.

Arsenal first signed Marquinhos in the summer of 2022 from Sao Paolo. It’s understood that the Gunners will receive most of the fee that they paid to sign the forward three years ago in the deal with Cruzeiro.
