Arsenal Injury News And Expected Return Dates: Updates On White, Saka And 4 More

Arsenal could be without six players for their next game against Nottingham Forest after the international break.
Mikel Arteta‘s side has had an impressive start to the new season, winning two of their three opening games. However, they did lose 1-0 to Liverpool in their last game before the international break.
The Arsenal boss will hope that he can have a couple of players back to full fitness ahead of their next game against a tough Nottingham Forest side. However, they do come off the back of a humbling 3-0 defeat to West Ham United.
So how does Arsenal’s team look in terms of fitness as they close in on returning from the international break…
Ben White – 13 September vs Nottingham Forest
Defender White picked up a knock in the last game against Liverpool. It hasn’t yet been confirmed whether he will return against Forest.
He is currently being assessed, and has a status set at 50%, with a return looking more likely against Forest than in the following game against Athletic Club in the Champions League.
Christian Norgaard – 13 September vs Nottingham Forest
Danish international Norgaard also suffered a knock against Liverpool, and is hoping to make his return against Forest too.
He likely won’t start, but would expect to potentially come off the bench if Arsenal need reinforcements in midfield.
Bukayo Saka – 21 September vs Manchester City
Looking at Arsenal’s most important games coming up, the game against rivals Manchester City is perhaps the one that stands out.
It looks as though Arsenal will have their star man back for the game against Pep Guardiola’s side, despite him suffering a hamstring injury. Mikel Arteta said: “No surgery, it’s not as bad as the previous one. Very unfortunate to pick it up because it’s on the other side.”
William Saliba – 28 September vs Newcastle United
Centre-back Saliba suffered an ankle injury during the warm up before the game against Liverpool. He is expected to miss the majority of September, and his current return date is set at the end of the month against Newcastle.
The Frenchman could be out for even longer, with Arteta’s most recent update suggesting that he needs at least three or four weeks to recover.
Gabriel Jesus – 22 November vs Tottenham
Brazilian striker Jesus suffered an ACL injury last season, and he underwent surgery. He is getting closer to making a return to training.
There have been no recent updates on Jesus, but it is understood that he will return before the end of the year, and late November looks to be the most likely outcome.
Kai Havertz – 22 November vs Tottenham
Havertz suffered a very unlucky knee injury last month which was worse than initially feared, and he is expected to be out until late November, on a similar time line to Jesus.
Arteta said: “Obviously, we lose another big player for many, many weeks, but it was the right thing to do. The most important thing is – when he gets back – he is in good condition.”
