Liverpool have already booked their place in the Champions League round of 16 and Arsenal are well-placed to join them, while Manchester City are at risk of being eliminated

Arsenal are all-but through to the last 16

Liverpool are top of the revamped Champions League league phase heading into the final round of fixtures next week, while Manchester City are at serious risk of being knocked out.

Arne Slot’s side are the only club who have not tasted defeat in the competition so far, having picked up seven straight wins over AC Milan, Bologna, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Girona and Lille.

They will be hoping to continue their excellent European form by beating PSV Eindhoven next week. Liverpool are one of two clubs that have already ensured they will advance directly into the round of 16 by finishing in the top eight.

Barcelona will join them and six more places will be up for grabs next week. Arsenal have all-but ensured they will be among them after their latest win over Dinamo Zagreb, while Inter Milan are level with them on points after they beat Sparta Prague.

16 other clubs will advance to knockout phase play-offs, where they will face each other over two legs for a spot in the round of 16. Those first legs will be played on February 11 and 12 and the second legs will take place on February 18 and 19.

Aston Villa are well-placed despite losing 1-0 to Monaco on Tuesday, with Unai Emery’s side sat ninth in the table ahead of their final game against Celtic next week. The Scottish champions, meanwhile, have secured a place in the play-offs.

Several teams have crashed out of the competition altogether, with Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava both failing to pick up a single point so far. Bologna, RB Leipzig, Red Star Belgrade and Sturm Graz and have also been eliminated.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and City are teetering on the brink of elimination, having mustered just ten and eight points respectively after seven games. PSG have suffered defeats to Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, while City have only managed wins over Slovan Bratislava and Sparta Prague.

City currently sit one spot outside the qualification places in 25th after losing 3-2 to PSG at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday. However, both clubs will need to win their final game if they are to advance.

Celtic meanwhile guaranteed they will be in the play-off round after a nervy win over Young Boys at Parkhead.
