All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours as Mikel Arteta’s side continue their work in the summer market, with a striker remaining high on

Hello and welcome to the football.london live blog, covering all the latest Arsenal news and transfer gossip on Wednesday, July 9.

Christian Norgaard is expected to become the Gunners’ third signing of the summer following the arrival of Martin Zubimendi. The 31-year-old midfield will join from Brentford.

Zubimendi brought his time at Real Sociedad to a close after attracting interest from Liverpool last summer and, more recently, Real Madrid. Arsenal have also signed Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea.

While June remained relatively quiet for the Gunners, rivals like Liverpool were busy confirming the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez. Arsenal are expected to stay active in the market, with Norgaard emerging as the next arrival.

However, the signing fans are most eagerly awaiting is a new forward. Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly edging closer to a Premier League move, with Arsenal among the clubs showing serious interest.

Departures are also possible. Gabriel Martinelli has been mentioned as a target for Bayern Munich, while Leandro Trossard drew late interest from Saudi Arabia during the final day of the 2024 summer transfer window.

So, with that being said, stay with us at football.london as we bring you all the latest Arsenal news and transfer gossip…

Arteta knows what he wants this summer!

Back in May, Mike Arteta claimed that he wants to ‘add goals and creativity’ to his squad in the summer transfer window. The Arsenal boss said: “What is clear with the amount of injuries we had in the frontline is that we need a goal threat.

“We need the firepower out there. We cannot rely just on the numbers we had before. We have to add goals, we have to add creativity, and we have to add numbers, and that will be in different positions.”

So far, Andrea Berta has only managed to get his hands on Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martín Zubimendi. With the Gunners’ first pre-season friendly in just under two weeks, the Italian will be under pressure to accelerate business.

Rodrygo WON’T join Al Nassr this summer

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rodrygo won’t join Al Nassr this summer. The Real Madrid winger was briefly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League earlier this week.

The report claims that no talks have taken place, with Al Nassr looking to sign other targets. It’s said that Rodrygo remains focused on playing in Europe, and a switch to the Middle East is not on the cards at this stage in his career.
