Arsenal transfer news as the Gunners have less than two weeks until the transfer window closes for business this summer
Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea (
Hello and welcome to our live Arsenal transfer coverage on Wednesday, August 20.
Attention still remains on the transfer window with Arsenal remaining in the market to make further signings. Arteta has already added six new signings to his squad with Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke making their debut at the weekend.
The possibility of adding another attack is said to be considered. Eberechi Eze has been on their radar all summer but the Crystal Palace star looks set to move to Tottenham.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo could be one to keep an eye for after he was left on the bench in Los Blancos’ opening day win over Osasuna on Tuesday night. However, it is currently unclear whether the Gunners will move in the final stages of the window.
Meanwhile, there remains a key focus on outgoings with Jakub Kiwior, Karl Hein and Fabio Vieira all being linked with moves away from north London.

Kiwior claim
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo has claimed that Jakub Kiwior has become unsettled after failing to make the Arsenal matchday squad against Manchester United and is now OPEN to a departure.
Porto are said to be monitoring developments and could provide Kiwior with a fresh start, with the Portuguese side viewing the Poland international as a potential reinforment to strenghthen in defence.

Havertz replacements
No Arsenal player with more than 10 minutes of Premier League football had a higher points per game than Kai Havertz last season. That is what Mikel Arteta and his new-look recruitment team are trying to find a suitable alternative to.
It is not yet known how long the German is going to be sidelined for after picking up a knee injury which threatens to derail the start of his 2025/26 campaign, but Arsenal’s actions are telling. They are now in the market for another attacker having dropped out of the race to sign Eberechi Eze earlier this summer.
With a striker market that has fluctuated from overcrowded and complicated to being a two-way standoff, the next steps are not clear. Arsenal have a No.9 in Viktor Gyokeres but no obvious natural backup when Havertz is unavailable.

Lookman talks
Arsenal have held talks with Ademola Lookman’s camp about a possible move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, according to TBR Football.
The ex-Leicester City and Everton forward handed in a transfer request at Atalanta earlier this summer in a bid to force through an exit from the Italian club.
Now, it has been reported that Lookman has had conversations with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Aston Villa in the last 48 hours.

Rogers move
Arsenal are weighing up a dramatic swoop for Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, according to The Sun.
Mikel Arteta’s side have held a long-term interest in the England international and were monitoring his situation, but news of Kai Havertz’s latest injury setback has increased the likelihood that the Gunners will head back into the market before the transfer window closes.
Rogers would offer high quality and versatility to Arsenal’s squad, with the 23-year-old able to play anywhere across the forward line and in the No.10 role.

Rodrygo asking place could be ‘slashed’
Arsenal’s hopes of landing Rodrygo in the final weeks of the summer transfer window could be bolstered with Real Madrid preparing to slash their asking price.
Madrid have previously demanded £86m for the 24-year-old with no formal bid received. Now, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has claimed that the club could accept a lower fee.
It’s said as little as £51m-£60m would be enough.

What is the latest on Eberechi Eze’s?
Our Tom Canton has his say..
There remains less than a fortnight of the summer transfer window, and despite the work done so far to bring six players to Arsenal this summer, there is still a sense of incompletion about the Gunners’ business. With news that Ebere Eze continues with talks over a move to Tottenham, there has been a growing sense of frustration.
The door to Arsenal is not completely closed, but there has been no movement from the red and white half of North London. football.londonunderstands that the renewal of Ethan Nwaneri’s contract did have a significant effect on the club’s pursuit of the player.
However, there is still a desire to do business, but the club are reliant on outgoings for several reasons. The first is to fall in line with UEFA Financial Fair Play.
While much has been made of the headroom Arsenal have when it comes to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations, with the club in the Champions League, they must abide by the organiser’s rules. The club, football.london understands, always wish to work comfortably within these restrictions, and aim to remain self-sufficient and self-sustaining in their endeavours to compete for the biggest trophies.
