History made in Hong Kong with the first north London derby outside the UK

Arsenal vs Tottenham LIVE

History will be made in Hong Kong this afternoon as Arsenal and Tottenham face off in the first north London derby to be held outside the UK. Based less than four miles between each other, the two rivals have travelled almost 6,000 miles to meet at the Kai Tak Sports Park today. This game will perhaps not have the bite of a usual derby, but both managers and squads will be keen to earn early bragging rights.

Arsenal’s new £64m striker, Viktor Gyokeres, will be making his debut, but both Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori remain sidelined for Mikel Arteta. Young star Max Dowman will hope to get minutes again, however, after starring off the bench against Newcastle. Spurs are hopeful that both Dominic Solanke and Rodrigo Bentancur will be able to feature after shaking off fitness concerns, and James Maddison is in contention to feature.

The Gunners are looking to make it four wins on the spin in pre-season, while Spurs were last seen limping to a 0-0 draw at Luton Town. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Arsenal reporter Simon Collings and Tottenham reporter Matt Verri.

Matt Verri reports

Dominic Solanke misses out again for Spurs. Thomas Frank described it as a minor ankle injury last weekend, but he didn’t take part in training on Tuesday and now isn’t in the squad here. A concern with less than two weeks until Spurs face PSG in the UEFA Super Cup.

Simon Collings reports

That is a very strong Arsenal team, close to their best XI you would say. One interesting thing in pre-season, however, is how Odegaard, Rice and Zubimendi are yet to all start together. Arteta keeping that up his sleeve for next week?
