Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is fit to face Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
Saka was forced off before the hour mark on Sunday during Arsenal’s 4-0 win at Portman Road after Ipswich defender Leif Davis, who was sent off, caught the back of his ankle with a tackle from behind. The England winger was seen with ice on his Achilles after coming off, but Arteta has confirmed that he is fit.
“We have to wait and see now how he reacts after the session, but it is nothing too serious,” said Arteta. “If we want to, I think he will have a good chance to play tomorrow.”
Arsenal will be without Jorginho and Riccardo Calafiori, however, as both players are still out injured. Jorginho has a rib injury and Calafiori is struggling with a knee problem.
“Ricky is out and Jorgi, unfortunately as well,” said Arteta. “And I think Jorgi will be out for a few weeks.”
Crystal Palace is the final game Arsenal have before they host Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final. Arteta is expected to make changes to his team, as a result, and he made three on Sunday for the trip to Ipswich.
Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko were two of those changes, with the pair coming in to play at full-back. Arteta may look to reverse that this time out, and give Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly minutes ahead of PSG.
Leandro Trossard could be handed another start after scoring twice at Ipswich.
Arsenal predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard9
