There is a fresh update on Ibrahima Konate’s injury, which he sustained during Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Konate was one of Liverpool’s best performers on the night as they beat Real Madrid 2-0 to continue their 100% winning rate in Europe.

Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo secured the win for Arne Slot’s side, who now have one leg in the next round of the Champions League courtesy of their 17th win of the season.

However, in a night full of positives for Slot and Liverpool fans, there were a few negatives, with Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley both sustaining injuries during the game

The Frenchman suffered a suspected injury to his right knee late in the game and was seen hobbling off the pitch at full-time.

In his pre-Manchester City press conference, Liverpool coach Arne Slot was unable to confirm the nature of Konate’s injury and the time scale needed for recovery.

“They (Konate and Bradley) are still being assessed. It’s difficult to see where they are in terms of the injury,” he said.

While Liverpool fans await the official word from Slot, Lewis Steele of the Daily Mail has provided a fresh update on Konate’s injury.

Latest update on Ibrahima Konate

According to Steele, Konate is likely to miss Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday.

However, the journalist reports that the Frenchman has avoided serious injury, meaning he could return in a few days.

“Ibrahima Konate is another who is a doubt for Sunday’s visit of champions Manchester City after limping off – though it is believed the Frenchman is hopeful he has avoided any serious damage,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Paul Joyce of The Times has provided a worrying injury update on Conor Bradley. Joyce states in a report today “Liverpool are concerned Conor Bradley could miss a key chunk of their season after suffering a hamstring injury in the victory over Real Madrid.”
