David Ornstein confirms late Saturday evening that Liverpool and Frankfurt have agreed on the terms of a deal that will bring Hugo Ekitike to Anfield.

Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed a deal for Hugo Ekitike to move to Merseyside and Anfield.

David Ornstein confirmed this in The Athletic late on Saturday night.

– The framework for a deal between Liverpool and Frankfurt for the transfer of Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool is complete.

– There is still some work to be done before the deal is finalised; expect a day or two. If all bonuses are met, it will be a record sale for Frankfurt with a total sum of 95 million euros.

This means that Ekitike will soon become the seventh signing for the Reds this summer, and for a huge sum of money.

The Frenchman will join Liverpool as their new striker and will in all likelihood join the squad that travels to Asia on Sunday.

Ekitike will probably travel afterwards and greet his new team-mates in Hong Kong.

However, as Ornstein writes, there is still some work to be done on the deal.

But by all indications, this deal seems to be something both clubs want, and the likelihood of it being completed in just a short time is high.

Fabrizio Romano is quick to follow up on Ornstein and writes that “Liverpool are close to an agreement with Frankfurt for Hugo Ekitike after the new bid was submitted.

The offer is close to 90 million euros including bonuses, while the structure of these is now being discussed between the clubs.

Ekitike has a total agreement with Liverpool on a six-year contract”.
