Liverpool could accept Jarell Quansah offer after Arne Slot green light’

Liverpool are open to letting Jarell Quansah leave the club on loan this summer amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Arne Slot would be open to letting the 22-year-old leave.

Football Insider revealed in February that Liverpool want to sign a new centre-back in a move which would see Quansah pushed down the pecking order.

However, there is still a feeling that the England defender’s long-term future is at Anfield and the club have high hopes for his future at the club.

A loan spell would allow him to continue his development with regular playing time in the Premier League regardless of the Reds’ transfer plans.

This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Quansah is open to leaving Liverpool in search of first-team football amid interest from Newcastle United.

Liverpool plan to accept loan offer for Jarrell Quansah

Brown told Football Insider in March that Liverpool could let Quansah leave on loan after he has fallen out of favour under Slot’s management.

The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted a number of Premier League clubs would be interested in a short-term deal.

“The first time I watched Quansah was with the Under-21s,” he told Football Insider.

“They were playing at Accrington and it was a tight game, they were putting everybody under pressure and you could see a couple of the players didn’t fancy it.

“Quansah basically played them on his own, he did everything you’d want to see.

“After that, he went on loan to Bristol Rovers and everybody I spoke to was impressed.

“Eventually, he’s made his way into the Liverpool team and played a fair bit under Jurgen Klopp.

“But under Slot he hasn’t had the same chances, because they’ve had Konate starting next to Van Dijk and Quansah has been pushed out a bit.

“Plus, they keep talking about buying a new centre-back, so he’ll fall even further away.

“If he’s not playing regularly, he’s missing a key part of his development.

“From what I hear, Liverpool and the manager would be willing to let him go on loan, and a loan spell is exactly what he needs.

“He needs to play regularly in the Premier League, and there’s no shortage of interest in him, so he can develop his game and get used to starting at the top level.

“Then, the long-term view would be for him to become a regular for Liverpool.”

Wolves eye Harvey Elliott deal after Matheus Cunha latest

Quansah is not the only player on the fringe of Slot’s squad who could be allowed to leave Anfield this season, amid speculation about Harvey Elliott’s future.

Brown told Football Insider that Wolves have now joined the race for Elliott and could use the money from Matheus Cunha’s sale to fund a move.

Wolves’ interest comes as the midfielder has fallen out of favour under Slot despite both sides speaking positively about his role in the squad.

Football Insider revealed in March that Elliott has been “disappointed” at his lack of playing time under the boss – although he will not push for a move away.
