Controversial decision against Liverpool was made once again as Aston Villa scored after McGinn’s handball.

It was a marginal call with the referee determining that McGinn had not intentionally handled. “The handball happened so far before the goal went in, so maybe that’s why it hasn’t been taken back,” pundit Alan Hutton said on TNT Sports

This episode happened at the build-up to Villa’s second goal but it still had to be checked. Still, referees decided that everything was by the rules: not a foul on Jota and ‘definitely’ not a handball.

Here’s what Liverpool supporters wrote right after the goal.

@pu4a2: “Blatant handball is ignored by ref and VAR. How do you not see McGinn’s handball? It has started decisions against YNWA again. Similar handball in the eighteen area when we played Arsenal.”

@Bareknucklebon1: “Irrespective of how long after the handball Vill’s goal was, handball is an offence on its own right. As soon as McGinn handled it the ref should’ve awarded a free kick long before the goal.”

@HHaz893: “So we’re not talking about the handball from McGinn, aight cool!”

@YnwaJustice497: “Poor refereeing again. Clear handball by mcGinn in build-up to their 2nd goal.”

@ClemmyKarl: “We are LiVARpool, according to some cretin opposition fans. If that’s so then wasn’t Disasi sent off for a punch on MacAllister & why wasn’t a clear handball by McGinn in the build up to Villa’s 2nd given… Maybe it’s because the officials are crap for everyone.”
