Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has provided an update on his recovery from a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since February.

The club confirmed in a statement earlier this year that the 25-year-old had sustained a season-ending injury during a training session while in Dubai on a mid-season training camp.

Havertz took to social media on on Thursday sharing a video of his recovery, along with the caption “step by step.” The clip showcased various exercises in the gym as he works his way back to full fitness.

Given Havertz has made significant progress in recent months, many fans have speculated whether he is ahead of schedule.

Some have even suggested he could return before the end of the season, despite the initial prognosis ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein was asked about Havertz’s recovery in a Q+A session on Thursday and shared his own theory about Arsenal’s plan for the forward. “It looks and sounds like his recovery is going well,” he wrote.

“Perhaps they’ll try to reintegrate him before the season finishes if it is safe to do so and there is something to play for. But let’s see — a lot of ‘ifs’ in that!”

Arsenal still have plenty to play for this season, even if the Premier League title is slightly out of reach with Liverpool leading the charge by 11 points. It would take a significant capitulation from the Merseyside club to gift Mikel Arteta ‘s side a route back into the race.
