The Eintracht Frankfurt star is set to join Liverpool this
Liverpool fans are shocked after seeing how much the club will pay for new striker Hugo Ekitike.
After a turbulent week involving links with both Newcastle United star Alexander Isak and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ekitike, it appears that Liverpool may have finally secured their new striker.
Isak was reportedly Arne Slot’s dream signing this summer but, despite offering a world-record fee in the region of £120million, Newcastle appear to have stood firm after saying he wasn’t for sale.
Therefore, the Reds turned their attention to Ekitike, who has attracted attention from several of the biggest clubs in England, including both Manchester United and Newcastle.
And it appears that a deal for the talented Frenchman to join Liverpool may have already been completed, and fans are shocked to see how much he is set to cost.

Earlier in the window, Newcastle saw a £70m bid for Ekitike declined as Frankfurt believed that another club would meet their valuation of £85m.
Just days later, Liverpool saw their first bid for the Frenchman accepted by the German club, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Reds could pay up to €95m (£82.5m).
The 23-year-old will reportedly sign a six year deal for Ekitike, keeping him at the club until June 2031, after making it clear that he only wanted to join Liverpool despite the interest from other clubs.
An earlier report, Sky Sports claimed that the Reds will pay a fixed fee of £69m, with add-ons and bonuses meaning that it could rise to £78m (€90m).
But despite the fact that they’ve finally signed a new striker, some fans were not happy with the price Liverpool are playing, as they took to social media to make their feelings known.

Commenting on Romano’s post on Instagram, one fan wrote: “This transfer window has so many questionable prices wtf.”
While another claimed: “95 mil is too much for this.”
And one stated: “I’m not confident about this deal because I don’t think the player is worth the amount being paid to sign him. Although I had hoped we would sign Isak, I trust the team and the coach, and we’ll see if he’s the striker we really need.”

Liverpool fans sent into meltdown after hearing what Eddie Howe has said about Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle
The Newcastle United striker was omitted from Eddie Howe’s squad for the Magpies’ 4-0 defeat to Celtic on Saturday.
Liverpool and Newcastle fans were quick to react after hearing what Eddie Howe said about Alexander Isak’s future at the club on Saturday.
Isak, 25, has been heavily linked with a potential move to Liverpool for several days, while Al Hilal have also shown interest in the Swedish international.
And just when Newcastle fans thought they were off the hook, as the Reds are progressing their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, it emerged that Isak was left out of the Magpies’ squad ahead of their 4-0 defeat to Celtic in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday.
However, initial reports suggested that this was due to his minutes being managed and unconnected to his future at the club.
Of course, Howe was then asked why both Joelinton and Isak were not included in his matchday squad for the Celtic game, and his answer has excited some Liverpool fans.
“Both (Joelinton and Isak) are fit but not ready to play,” Howe told journalist Mark Douglas.
Alexander Isak has been linked with a Newcastle exit
“Alex has trained and is fine, but we didn’t want to take the risk with him.”
He added: “It’s difficult for me to give 100% clarity on any player. Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, and the team. I’m confident he’ll be here at the start of the season.”
Then, another set of quotes emerged via Sky Sports’ Keith Downey.
“It was my decision,” Howe explained. “He [Isak] travelled back to Glasgow with us, but I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him. The last thing he wanted is to be sat in the stand watching, that wasn’t fair to him. But I’m confident he will be a Newcastle player come the end of the window.”
And Liverpool fans wasted no time in giving their thoughts on the Newcastle head coach’s stance.
One said: “I am reeled back in unfortunately.”
Another added: “Gotta be something in the rumours then.”
A third claimed: “I’m maybe reading more into this than I should, but that sounds to me like he’s unsettled.”
Eddie Howe gave his thoughts
Meanwhile, some Newcastle fans were not pleased with how Howe spoke on Saturday.
One said: “So his [Isak’s] head’s been turned then. Off you pop, you don’t want to play for us, don’t bother.”
Another claimed: “Yeah, this doesn’t sound completely true. It’s a very typical Howe response to an uncomfortable media question. Speculation or not, you don’t get sent home for speculation. There is speculation all year round. Not sure what is going on now.”
