Beautiful moment Saka handed penalty to Odegaard v West Ham – spotted

In a display of remarkable team spirit, Bukayo Saka handed over penalty-taking duties to Martin Odegaard, allowing the Norwegian midfielder to score and seal Arsenal’s 3-0 lead.

The penalty was awarded after Lucas Paqueta’s careless challenge brought Saka crashing to the ground.

As Saka picked himself up, he initially appeared to be preparing to take the spot kick himself.

However, in a surprising move, Saka handed the ball to Odegaard, who stepped forward to take the penalty

Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka, has revealed why he handed over the team’s penalty to captain Martin Odegaard, during their 5-2 win at West Ham on Saturday.

The Gunners were already two goals up thanks to Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard when Saka was fouled inside the area.

The 23-year-old opted to allow Odegaard to score his first goal of the campaign.

Saka however took the second penalty that was awarded before the break to score Arsenal’s fifth.

When asked about his gesture, Saka replied: “Odegaard wanted to take the penalty… I’m more than happy to give him the ball.

“He always gives me the ball, so we have a good connection.

“Martin is a top player, he’s been playing so good since he came back.
