FA Cup 2024/25 third round: Fixtures, results, dates, schedule for matches in English cup competition

Premier League clubs resume their participation in the magic of the FA Cup now the calendar has turned to 2025.

With lower-league sides contesting the first two rounds, the 20 Premier League teams and 24 from the Championship now enter the fray.

Defending champions Manchester United are under new management as winning head coach Erik ten Hag was let go and Ruben Amorim brought in to replace the Dutchman. Premier League giants Man City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea have also won the competition in recent years.

No club has repeated as FA Cup winner since Arsenal in 2014 and 2015, meaning the Red Devils are up against a bit of history over the last decade.

The last lower-league side to win the FA Cup was way back in 1980 when West Ham, then in the second tier, took down Arsenal at Wembley. The last lower-league club to reach the final was Cardiff City back in 2008, who fell to Premier League side Portsmouth by a 1-0 score.

FA Cup 2024/25 schedule, fixtures

Each round will take place over the following weekends, with the day of the final confirmed for Saturday, May 17.

The matches in each round are likely to spread over a few days once fixtures are confirmed.

First Round: November 1-4, 2024

Second Round: November 29-December 1, 2024

Third Round: January 9-13, 2025

Fourth Round: February 8, 2025

Fifth Round: March 1, 2025

Quarterfinal: March 29, 2025

Semifinal: April 26, 2025

Final: May 17, 2025
