Arsenal start 2025 with a win

They were given a scare by Brentford – always strong at the Gtech – after Bryan Mbeumo’s opener – and the Bees nearly made it 2-0 through David Raya’s error.

But goals from Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino – via another corner goal – and Gabriel Martinelli settled this tie after 53 minutes.

Brentford suffer back to back home losses in another spirited display from Thomas Frank’s side.
