Harvey Elliott Contract Clause Could See Him Return to Liverpool After Villa Snub
Harvey Elliott was named on the bench for Aston Villa’s Europa League clash against Go Ahead Eagles.
Harvey Elliott has a contract clause that could see him return to Liverpool following his latest Aston Villa snub.
Elliott joined Villa from Liverpool on deadline day.
Villa signed the 22-year-old on an initial season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy conditional on appearances.
Elliott will cost £35 million next summer if he registers 10 appearances across all competitions.
At the time of writing, he has played five games across all competitions following his move from Liverpool.
Elliott hasn’t played in Villa’s last two games against Burnley and Tottenham, with his last appearance coming in his side’s win over Feyenoord in the Europa League on October 2.
He was a second-half substitute against Feyenoord.
And Elliott has once again found himself on the bench against Go Ahead Eagles, with fans believing Unai Emery is not playing him on purpose, so the club doesn’t have to trigger the contract clause in his deal.

One X user wrote: “Unai determined to spread those 10 Harvey Elliott appearances over the season.”
A second said: “He hates Elliott doesn’t he,” while another added: “Very clear Emery never wanted Elliott and there’s obviously an appearance clause involved.”
Another predicted: “I think we all know now that Elliott was a Monchi panic buy. He’ll be back at Liverpool in January.”

Elliott’s snub comes after a report claims Emery had pushed for West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta before the player’s eventual signing.
According to The Athletic, Villa had known the Liverpool starlet was available in the months before and held off signing him due to his price.
Villa fended off competition from RB Leipzig for Elliott, who rejected interest from West Ham and Fulham earlier in the summer.
The Midlands club ended up taking on Elliott, having taken note of his performances for England in their triumphant European under-21 championship.
He starred at the tournament, scoring a brace in his side’s 2-1 semi-final victory over the Netherlands and in the final against Germany.
Villa saw potential given his age and ability, believing he could hold resale value.
Even though he has impressed Villa personnel with his attitude and application, Elliott has made just five appearances this season.

Jurgen Klopp appeared to be finished with football management, but the iconic Liverpool manager has been linked with a stunning return to the dugout
Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a return to management
Jurgen Klopp has been linked with an eyebrow-raising move to Atletico Madrid. The iconic Liverpool manager is currently the global head of soccer at the Red Bull franchise.
There were recent reports of dissatisfaction with his work within the company, with departing Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner reportedly being earmarked as a potential replacement. While these rumours were rubbished by Red Bull, who stated they were satisfied with Klopp’s work, reports indicating a possible exit have reared their head again.

This time, Spanish outlets have claimed Klopp is being considered as the heir to Diego Simeone’s throne at Atletico. This would be an interesting turn of events, considering Simeone was sent off at Anfield in September and had to be dragged away from Liverpool supporters next to his dugout, after the Reds’ won 3-2 in the Champions League.

In the summer, Simeone will enter the final year of his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano. However, Spanish television show El Chiringuito has claimed Klopp is in advanced negotiations about succeeding the Argentine.
They claim Klopp is speaking with Mark Rowan, who is the CEO of Atletico majority shareholders, Apollo. Considering how firmly Red Bull rejected the recent rumours around Klopp, they may be equally surprised by these reports from Spain.

When Klopp announced he was leaving Anfield in 2024, he insisted he would never take charge of another English football team. However, he did not say anything about the prospect of managing another club in Europe.
When Liverpool legend Xabi Alonso was sacked by Real Madrid, the German was quickly linked with a move to the Bernabeu. The Premier League winner was also identified as a potential contender for the Germany national team job, if current boss Julian Nagelsmann leaves after the World Cup.

Decorated Liverpool player set to leave in the summer after club makes big decision
Liverpool’s decorated player is poised to depart this summer following a major decision by the club.
As uncertainty looms over Mohamed Salah’s future, Liverpool may face one of the most crucial choices in their recent history this summer.
According to Football Insider, the club might consider allowing the Egyptian superstar to leave if a significant offer comes in from the Saudi Pro League.
Salah, who has epitomized Liverpool’s attacking prowess for nearly ten years, remains one of the most celebrated figures in the club’s modern history.
However, with the forward nearing the final year of his contract and entering the twilight of his career, Liverpool’s management must determine whether to prolong his tenure or start strategizing for life after their iconic No. 11.
