Arsenal have travelled to Dubai for their warm weather winter training camp, with Mikel Arteta’s squad finally earning a break from match action.

The Gunners have been embroiled in a hectic fixture schedule, which has seen them play every three days since late-November.

Dowman has been described as ‘unbelievable’ by Arteta, with his supreme technical quality and physicality demonstrating maturity well beyond his years.

The 15-year-old isn’t allowed to feature in the Premier League this season, as he was 14 when the campaign started, but six days under the microscope of the senior coaching staff in Dubai could determine how frequent a role he plays next season.

Josh Nichols

Josh Nichols made his Arsenal debut in September in the EFL Cup against Bolton, and impressed for the Gunners in pre-season.

The technically secure right-back has a real opportunity to advertise his attributes to Arteta, which may be useful at some point this season.

Jurrien Timber has reportedly picked up an injury after playing almost every single minute for Arsenal of late.

Ben White returned to training on Friday, but may not be ready to step right into the side immediately.

Takehiro Tomiyasu remains out injured, and thus these issues at right-back may open a pathway to some minutes for Nichols, if he can earn the trust of the manager.
