Arsenal have suffered another injury blow in Dubai, with reports suggesting that brilliant forward has sustained a hamstring injury

Arsenal continue to struggle with injuries this season, with reports suggesting that German forward Kai Havertz has suffered a worrying injury scare during the club’s training trip to Dubai.

The Gunners are already without three first-team forwards—Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli—due to injuries. Now, Mail Sport has revealed that Havertz could join the list of absentees after sustaining an issue during a training session earlier this week.

According to the report, the problem may be hamstring-related, though the exact diagnosis remains unconfirmed. The club is expected to assess the severity of the injury in due course, but if it is a hamstring issue, Havertz could face time on the sidelines.

Havertz is Arsenal’s top scorer this season with 15 goals, and his potential absence would be a significant blow to the team’s ambitions of overtaking Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

Despite Arteta publicly acknowledging the need for reinforcements, Arsenal opted not to sign a forward during the January transfer window. With Jesus ruled out due to an ACL injury sustained in the FA Cup clash against Manchester United, Havertz has been the team’s only recognised centre-forward.

Arteta has previously experimented with Leandro Trossard in the central role, but with Martinelli and Saka both sidelined, shifting the Belgian forward could leave Arsenal vulnerable on the flanks. The decision not to bring in additional attacking options now appears to be a significant gamble, especially with the title race still within reach.

Adding to Arsenal’s concerns, reports from Dubai indicate that Takehiro Tomiyasu may require another knee operation after missing almost the entire season due to injury.

The 26-year-old Japanese international has played just six minutes of Premier League football this season, making a brief substitute appearance in October’s victory over Southampton after recovering from a three-month injury layoff. However, a setback soon after has kept him sidelined, prompting fresh concerns over his long-term fitness.

According to Mail Sport, Arsenal’s medical staff are now considering a second surgery to address his persistent knee issues. If the operation goes ahead, Tomiyasu could face another lengthy rehabilitation period, ruling him out for an extended spell.

This would mark his second knee procedure in just over a year, following a similar operation in 2023 that kept him out for three months. Given his recurring injury struggles since joining Arsenal in 2021, another long-term absence would be a major blow to both the player and the club.
