HUGE BLOW Arsenal appear to suffer another injury blow in Wolves clash
Kai Havertz received treatment for an injury at the end of Saturday’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, after completing the full fixture with Arsenal’s 10 men.
Arsenal players, staff, and fans all welcomed the final whistle on Saturday, as the team secured three points away to Wolverhampton Wanderers despite being reduced to 10 men for over half the match.
Yet perhaps there were none more grateful for the end of the game than Kai Havertz, who collapsed to the floor after hearing the whistle and subsequently received treatment from the Arsenal medical staff.

The player seemed to be holding his leg as he ran in that final minute, and we’ll just have to hope he’s avoided any kind of serious injury.
Simon Collings reports that Havertz ultimately had to be hauled up off the ground by a couple of Arsenal physios. Mikel Arteta didn’t give any update after the game, and nor have any reporters to this point.
Havertz’s minutes and the distances he has to run each game certainly put him at risk of injuries through fatigue.
Only David Raya, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhaes have played more minutes than the German international this campaign, and with all due respect, none of their positions require quite as much physical exertion as the centre-forward in Arteta’s side.
Havertz is constantly pressing opposition defenders when they have the ball, and then he’s running up and down the pitch and searching for space in behind when Arsenal reclaim possession. The work never stops in his role, especially when your backup has an ACL injury.

That’s going to be the other factor making Havertz’s injury situation so concerning. If he’s out for any length of time, Gabriel Jesus can’t help, so the job would presumably fall to Leandro Trossard – who is already starting games anyway.
It’s yet another sign that Arsenal need to find a striker in the final week of the January transfer window.
