It is a welcome distraction as the Trent Alexander-Arnold transfer saga rumbles

Ibrahima Konate

After successfully navigating some tricky Christmas fixtures Liverpool sit top of the Premier League table in title winning form.

Despite injuries to players including Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate and Alisson in recent weeks, the Reds have cruised to numerous victories.

We exclusively revealed in November that Ibrahima Konate is expected to miss 5-6 weeks through injury. His return date is nearing.

Joe Gomez is the most recent Liverpool player to be set for a spell on the sidelines. Gomez suffered a hamstring injury against West Ham.

Despite reports that he was set to leave the club last summer, Gomez has worked tirelessly to work his way back into Arne Slot’s plans. He has moved ahead of Jarell Quansah in the pecking order. Quansah started the very first game of the season against Ipswich at second-choice centre-back. Gomez has maneuvered his way into that role since Ibrahima Konate’s injury.

Arne Slot described Gomez as a “top, top professional in November”.

Welcome injury boost for Liverpool

Liverpool have been given a welcome injury boost with Conor Bradley’s set to return to action this month. The Telegraph confirmed the news today.

Bradley suffered a hamstring injury during a heroic performance against Real Madrid at Anfield.

It is a welcome distraction away from the ongoing Trent Alexander-Arnold saga. In the same report, Chris Bascombe confirmed that Real Madrid are willing to pay £20M for the Liverpool right-back this window.
