“I don’t believe that” – Jamie Carragher accuses Arne Slot of lying about Tottenham

Jamie Carragher suggests that Arne Slot was attempting to lure Ange Postecoglou into a trap with his comments before Sunday’s clash between Liverpool and Spurs.
Liverpool triumphed 6-3 in a thrilling match in north London, ensuring they would top the Premier League at Christmas.

Slot will likely be frustrated with his team conceding three goals despite dominating much of the match. However, Tottenham, despite their defensive issues, can be difficult to break down at times.
Nevertheless, Liverpool exposed Tottenham’s defensive vulnerabilities, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz both scoring braces, while Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai also found the net.
Ahead of the game, Slot defended Postecoglou, praising Spurs’ style of play and stating that season ticket holders get great value for money, calling it a “privilege” to watch their games.
“They are consistent in their style, always looking to attack. They were unlucky against Man Utd yesterday,” Slot said (via Liverpool.com). “I don’t think many season ticket holders in the country get to watch as many exciting games as Tottenham fans, maybe only Liverpool! It’s a privilege to watch them play. They have a great style. Tottenham hasn’t historically been a club that wins a lot, but Ange has brought back that identity.”
Jamie Carragher accuses Arne Slot of a sly move
Carragher, however, isn’t buying Slot’s defense of Postecoglou. Instead, he believes the Liverpool boss was trying to coax Spurs into playing the same attacking way, which ultimately allowed Liverpool to dominate.
“People thought Slot was defending Postecoglou, but I don’t believe that,” Carragher said on Sky Sports after the match. “He was hoping Tottenham would play the same way, and Liverpool could’ve scored 10! Everyone I spoke to after that press conference could see it clearly.”
