Martinelli says Gunners ‘ready to go’ against Dinamo Zagreb after Villa disappointment
Gabriel Martinelli claims Arsenal are raring to go after the disappointing draw against Aston Villa at the weekend.
The Gunners take on Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League next.
“We’re ready to go,” he said. “We play for Arsenal, we are proud of ourselves and we want to play every game and win all of them.
“We can’t choose the games. We are going to go for it. We’re ready and we’re going to go there to win the game.”

Petit criticized Arsenal for signing Calafiori instead of striker
Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit has criticized the Gunners for signing defender Riccardo Calafiori instead of a striker last summer.
Last summer, Arsenal purchased Calafiori from Bologna for 42 million pounds, though Petit believes there was no urgent need for this. At the same time, Arsenal failed to strengthen the striker position, and Petit believes the Gunners won’t find the right player in the winter transfer window. “They should have taken care of this in the previous window. They should have bought a striker.
“I know they improved the squad with a couple of players, but they added players in positions that were already well-covered. They bought Riccardo Calafiori, but they already have two or three players capable of playing left-back.
“I’m a big fan of Calafiori, but if you look, you’ll see young Lewis-Skelly, who is so good, and Zinchenko, who often ends up on the bench, so they’re well-stocked in that area.
“I understand that depth is needed when you play every three days and compete in every tournament, but the striker position should have been the priority.
“I don’t know why Arsenal didn’t bring in a quality striker last summer. In January, they won’t be able to sign the top-level striker they want.
“They won’t be able to do it. I know their shortlist includes wingers and strikers, and I know fans desperately want someone who can convert all the chances the team creates, but that won’t happen in January. The January market is very difficult to navigate,” Petit told Daily Star.
