LATEST UPDATES LIVE Rodrygo Decides Club He Wants to Join With Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea Interested

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has reportedly chosen his preferred destination amid links to three Premier League clubs. The Brazilian has been left frustrated with his standing in the Spanish capital since Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at the club last summer, having fallen down the pecking order.

Xabi Alonso is believed to be open to selling the 24-year-old, with several clubs said to be interested in his services. English trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are said to be towards the front of that queue. However, it has now been revealed which of the three Rodrygo would most like to play for.

Rodrygo Chooses Arsenal as Preferred New Club

The Champions League winner likes the move to North London

According to a report from Spanish outlet AS, Rodrygo has made it clear to those close to the situation that if he was to be sold, his first choice would be to make the move to Arsenal over their Premier League rivals. The report also states that the club are willing to part with €90 million – excess of £77 million – in order to sign the forward and replace his compatriot, Gabriel Martinelli.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Rodrygo managed 25 goal contributions across the 2024/25 season compared to Martinelli’s 16.

However, Rodrygo’s hopes of a move to Emirates appear to have hit a snag after the Gunners agreed a £52 million deal with Chelsea to sign Noni Madueke, with the England international being given permission to leave the United States before the FIFA Club World Cup final in order to complete a medical.

As a result, it is not known whether Mikel Arteta’s interest in the player is as strong as it once was.

Rodrygo struggled to feature at this summer’s Club World Cup, making just three appearances and only one start. Is lack of game time came despite the fact that Madrid boss Alonso grew frustrated with attacking duo Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, who he is claimed to have planned showdown talks with as a result of their perceived lack of work rate.
