Arsenal must still complete three transfers as Andrea Berta’s team face new mission
Arsenal still need to complete their loan business this summer as youngsters await decisions on their futures
All the focus for Arsenal this summer on their senior team, bringing in players of quality while still trying to focus on sales at present for a late push of some more reinforcement. Sporting director Andrea Berta has been at the front line of all the club’s activity in the market.
However, it is Sam Hayball, Pathway and Loan Manager at Arsenal, who will be critical in sorting the temporary moves of some of the club’s exciting young players. Loans for the youth team have been an area of scrutiny within the fan base with more wanted to help both provide valuable senior experience and hope to elevate player value.
Mikel Arteta ‘confirms’ next three Arsenal transfers as final Eberechi Eze decision imminent
So far, the Under-21s group are yet to see any player leave the club on loan, with some joining the senior group in Spain and Asia this summer for pre-season. With that in mind football.london looks at three players who should certainly be aiming for some senior football this season to either give themselves better chances of a senior pathway at the club or to get a valuable transfer in 2026.
Charles Sagoe Jr
Having spent time with both Swansea City and Shrewsbury, Charles Sagoe Jr has been unable to make an impact on the senior stage. Despite a decent return in the Premier League 2, so far the loans have not been able to translate his goal contributions.
At 21, Sagoe Jr really does need to be playing more senior football, and it looks increasingly unlikely that will be at Arsenal. The hope is that this season, wherever he ends up, will give him the platform to finally deliver at the senior level.
Maldini Kacurri
The 19-year-old made his senior debut for Arsenal last season, coming off the bench for 20 minutes against Bolton in the Carabao Cup. He was also on the bench for the quarter-final against Crystal Palace before he joined Bromley on loan in League Two for the second half of the campaign.
