The celebrations are quite a contrast to last time Liverpool won the Premier League.

The world was a very different place five years ago, of course, when strict restrictions on public gatherings were in place during the Covid pandemic.

When Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool won the 2019-20 Premier League title – their first – the players had to celebrate at Anfield behind closed doors because fans were not allowed in.

It really feels like today is very much being regarded as a chance for Reds to make up for lost time and celebrate not only one Premier League titles, but two.

As the old Kop anthem (sort of) goes, You want a Premier League trophy? We’ve got one to spare… In our Liverpool homes…

The party atmosphere continues at Blackstock Market with groups of mates, families and kids all having a great time. Some queued for hours to get in but everyone has been happy to wait to be part of this special day Amy from Worcester is here with her partner Jake and her pal Conni.

Jake said he is “absolutely ecstatic” and it is “a dream come true” to be here.

Carl Woodward from BBC Radio Merseyside is our man on the media bus… it’s very difficult to hear exactly what he’s saying but from what we can make out, it’s absolute bedlam in front of him!

We think the open-top buses are near the Jolly Miller pub, where throngs of fans are standing on the roof to get a better view

‘A glorious sight’ for all Reds

Absolutely incredible scenes here on The Strand. There is a sea of people continuously streaming down Water Street

Crowds are continuing to build and are now at least 20 people deep on each side.

There are red flags everywhere. Red smoke fills the air. Air horns are blaring.

Oh and Scousers are singing “Mo Salah” to the tune Sit Down by James.

I’ve never seen as much red – it’s a glorious sight for any Liverpool fans.

Liverpool are known for their global fanbase – you’ll see their red shirts wherever you go in the world. Even Manchester apparently…

Rhys has come all the way from Sydney for the party. Having taken in yesterday’s match at Anfield, he’s out here for the parade. Chances are that he’ll need the rest of his time in the UK to recover before flying home in a week or so’s time.

Rhys tells me: “This isn’t gonna be my first and last time in Liverpool… I will be back, we love the place.”

Twins Di and Adele tell me they don’t mind queuing in the rain to get into Blackstock Market.

They said their spirits aren’t dampened and they want to party before the players’ open-top bus hits Leeds Street.

The sisters praised their fellow Liverpool fans for cheering Real Madrid-bound right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold at the final game of the season yesterday.

I’m on the media bus and there’s lots of fireworks going off all over the place!

Plumes of red smoke are filling the air as the parade bus makes it way from the south of the city to the north.

It is going to be an incredible few hours.

I’ve already got goosebumps from the excitement – you can feel it in the air.

So our mate Carl from Radio Merseyside is on one of the open-top buses… but who else can lay claim to having the best seat in the house this afternoon?

Fans have been perching on walls, lampposts and even speed cameras to get a good view.

We reckon this spot by the Royal Liver Building could be a strong contender?

Our message from earlier still applies by the way – we’re not the fun police, or your mam… but please take care and look after yourselves and others on this day of celebration in Liverpool!
